Movement Medicine Collective
Therapeutic yoga, breath, and stillness to support you in navigating life with deeper presence, compassion, and wisdom
What would it mean to truly be on your own side?
Right now, the world feels heavy. We're navigating collective uncertainty, personal challenges, and bodies that are holding all of it. If you're living with pain, tension, or the accumulated stress of simply being human in these times, you're not alone.
In the West, we've largely considered our relationship with the body to be something to be fixed or ignored. But what if there was another way? What if your body—with all its wisdom, its stories, its capacity for healing—was actually your greatest ally in navigating this chaotic world?
Your body is a living ecosystem with its own rhythms and wisdom. Seventy percent of the information flow in your body is from the body to the brain—seventy percent! Your body is constantly communicating with you, offering guidance about what you need, what serves you, and what it's time to release.
Movement Medicine Collective is not a typical yoga class. This is therapeutic movement, breath, stillness, and connection designed to help you come home to yourself with kindness and curiosity. It's an invitation to practice new patterns of moving through the world—patterns that decrease pain and increase presence, ease, and authentic connection.
We need movement that meets us where we are, not where we think we should be.

Why a Yogic Approach?
Oh, I’m sorry. Is that an elephant in the room?
If you've been injured in yoga classes, felt intimidated by Instagram poses, or wondered if yoga is just spiritual bypassing disguised as stretching, I completely understand.
I've practiced yoga for thirty years, and honestly? I've injured myself more in yoga classes than any other activity. For years, I followed instructions instead of listening to my own body. I pushed through pain, demonstrated poses that weren't right for my body in that moment, and treated yoga like a performance rather than a practice.
After multiple injuries (ironic, I know), I had to find a completely different approach.
What I discovered changed everything: Movement Medicine isn't about poses—it's about relationship. It's slow, awareness-based movement that honors what your body actually needs. It's breathwork that calms your nervous system. It's stillness that allows you to hear your body's wisdom.
This practice taught me the difference between power OVER my body and power WITH my body.
Through therapeutic yoga, I learned to move with ease instead of force, to listen instead of override, to trust instead of control. This isn't Instagram yoga—it's medicine. It's about developing fluency with your body's language so you can navigate life with more presence, less pain, and deeper trust in your own wisdom.
Yoga IS energy medicine. When practiced therapeutically, it awakens the intuitive knowing that gets buried under daily survival and reconnects you with the collaborative relationship your body has always been offering.
Which honestly, we need now, more than ever so we have the resilience, clarity, and energy to address, well, life.
Why This Work Matters Now
We're living through a collective shit show. The world feels heavy, uncertain, and overwhelming. Our bodies—wise vessels that they are—are holding all of it. The tension in your shoulders, the ache in your back, the restlessness in your chest—these are not just physical symptoms. They're your body's way of processing what it means to be fully human right now.
We need movement that meets us where we are, not where we think we should be.
What Makes This Different
This practice is built on therapeutic yoga—breath, movement, and stillness that serves the body you have, not an idealized version of it. It's deeply compassionate movement that helps you:
Reduce pain and tension through gentle, awareness-based practices. Our bodies are experiencing unprecedented levels of stress due to global uncertainty, economic pressures, climate anxiety, and social upheaval. We're literally carrying the weight of the world in our shoulders, backs, and nervous systems. Gentle practices that actually release this tension (rather than adding more pressure to "fix" ourselves) offer real relief when everything else feels overwhelming.
• Increase clarity and awareness of long-standing patterns that no longer serve. The old ways of pushing through, people-pleasing, and powering over ourselves aren't working anymore. Many patterns that helped us survive earlier in life are now creating more suffering. With everything changing so rapidly, we need to recognize what truly serves us versus what we're doing out of habit or conditioning, so we can respond to life rather than just react.
• Cultivate full presence with what is, including the difficult parts. We're living in times that require us to hold complexity—grief and joy, fear and hope, collapse and possibility all at once. The tendency to escape, numb, or spiritual bypass is understandable but ultimately unsustainable. Learning to be present with difficulty without being overwhelmed by it builds the resilience we need to navigate uncertainty and contribute meaningfully to change.
• Access your body's innate wisdom and intuitive knowing. With information overload and expert opinions constantly contradicting each other, we need to reconnect with our own inner compass. Your body knows what's true for you before your mind figures it out. In times of chaos, this internal guidance system becomes essential for making decisions that align with your values and well-being.
• Develop power WITH your body instead of power over it This is perhaps the most radical and necessary shift. The same domination patterns that are destroying our planet show up in how we treat our own bodies. Learning collaborative relationship with your body becomes practice for the collaborative relationships we need to create a sustainable world. When we stop fighting ourselves, we can direct that energy toward the changes that actually matter.
Yoga IS energy medicine. It enlivens the deep knowing that lives in your bones, awakens the intuition that gets buried under daily survival, and reconnects you with the wisdom your body has always held. When you stand up from our sessions, refreshed and nourished, you know what is most important to you and for you.
This is body-mind medicine for a new way of being in the world. When we learn to move with our bodies rather than against them, when we practice power WITH instead of power OVER, we don't just heal ourselves—we model a different way of existing. We become living examples of the collaborative, compassionate world we want to create. The personal truly IS political, and it starts in the body.
This isn't just movement—it's medicine for navigating life in these times.
Ready to practice together?
Each month brings a new theme that supports your journey home to yourself. Through:
3 weekly movement sessions each month (60 minutes each) focused on therapeutic yoga practices. These aren't your typical yoga classes—each session is carefully designed around the monthly theme with gentle, awareness-based movement that honors your body's current needs. Expect slow, intentional practices that combine breath work, restorative poses, and mindful movement to help you release tension, reconnect with your body's wisdom, and develop new patterns of ease. Every session includes time for check-ins and integration so you feel truly seen and supported.
1 tea & connection call each month for reflection, sharing, and community support. This is where the magic of collective healing really happens. Over a warm cup of tea (or whatever nourishes you), we gather to share insights, process what's arising through the movement practice, and witness each other's journeys. These calls create deep bonds within the collective and offer a space to explore how your body-based healing is showing up in your daily life. It's heart-centered conversation that reminds you you're not alone in this work.
Private chat thread on Heartbeat for ongoing connection, questions, and insights. Think of this as your pocket-sized community available whenever you need support. Between sessions, you can share breakthrough moments, ask questions about the practices, request guidance when life feels overwhelming, or simply connect with others who understand this journey. I'll be actively present to offer personalized support, mini-practices, and gentle reminders of your body's wisdom throughout the month.
This isn't about perfecting poses or achieving flexibility. It's about learning to listen to your body's language, honoring its rhythms, and discovering the profound healing that happens when we move with compassion rather than force.
Movement Medicine Collective creates a container for this healing work—a place where your body's wisdom is honored.

What women say about Movement Medicine
“I signed up for Nona's therapeutic sessions not knowing exactly what to expect and yet also knowing it was going to be exactly what I wanted and needed. And of course, it exceeded my expectations.
Nona is magical and loving and I swear there is one thing that emerges from each session that literally changes my relationship with life (seriously, it's that good!). And the best part is that it is deepening my embodiment practices in such a gentle and profound way that I know that I will forever be using everything I have learned and practiced with her mastery of mind, body, spirit.
I had very specific physical pain going on in my body before we started, and the work together has helped to alleviate many of these areas while restoring my body to its natural state of being. I couldn't recommend this body-centered healing work enough!”
-Stacey Andon, Master Coach
“Thank you, Nona, for this beautiful group series. I appreciate it all. Shout out to all the fellow yoginis too! Therapeutic yoga with Nona has been an awesome mind-body-shifter and healing experience for me. As a person with an autoimmune condition and resultant permanent joint damage, pain is often a companion.
Continuing on with group sessions after individual sessions, this series of therapeutic group yoga was so impactful. I learned more about my own body through my own experience and hearing the experiences of others. I found the live sessions and messages in between so helpful in relearning how to be with this sweet body that I inhabit (or boss around with my brain mostly).
I feel my body enjoying being part of an integrated conversation, and I have slowed enough to listen to the “yellow lights” and the messages. Thank you so very much for this brilliance that you bring—your kindness in bringing specific focus areas that serve everyone in the group and for the way you lead us and our wholeness in a circle of goodness and community.
-Helen Samson Mullen, PhD.
“I just wanted to thank you for working with me over the past few months with your Therapeutic Yoga Sessions. It has been a very healing experience, and I'm grateful that this was part of my self-care routine over the past few months. Your combined coaching with movement was just what I needed as I'm navigating new territory in my personal and professional life.”
-Jennifer Visitacion, Leadership Coach
“I am a huge YES to Nona Therapy! At 61, I wouldn’t have believed the movement and principles that Nona teaches would make such a big difference in how I move. It’s like I was given a secret code to understand my body.
As a newbie athlete, I feel incredibly lucky to have found this approach to improve my walking, hiking, and jogging. I have less pain, more ease, and increased joy with every movement of my body. Do yourself a favor and give this a try. It WILL make a positive difference.
Oh, and Nona rocks!”

There may be a time when I do record them, but at this time given the nature of the classes via Zoom, it's simply better if you can be there in person.
Also, this isn't just a movement class - we begin and end every class with connection and reflection. Though movement is how we spend a large part of any given session the connection itself is part of the healing equation. You will benefit from being there and so will we. -
Former students often tell me that the groups I bring together are some of the safest they’ve ever experienced. I strive to create safety through consent and personal autonomy for everyone. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t be uncomfortable because that is often (if not always) part of our growth and learning.
If you have questions about feeling safe, please reach out. I’m happy to speak with you about your concerns and address them. -
The investment you make for the current month is non-refundable, but the recurring payments will be cancelled. Just as I make a measured investment of my time and energy into creating the space for you to be in the circle, I would ask that you read the description carefully and take a beat to make a wise choice about the course for you at this time.
