The Reverence Sessions

For the woman who wants to remain rooted and clear in the midst of upheaval.

You aren’t dealing with just one hard thing.

You're dealing with multiple challenges. This is mid-life, isn’t it? So much shifting and changing - and a body that is getting louder. It may be persistent, niggling pain, injuries, illness, or a diagnosis. Who has time for that?

You find yourself lying awake at 2 a.m., wondering if this is just your life now (and doing some extra scrolling, looking for a magic answer). The smallest things set you off, and you hate that about yourself, but your nervous system has nothing left. You're exhausted from holding it together in a body and a mind that won't settle in the shifting landscape of life.

Your body isn't trying to punish you or betray you. Your body is doing what bodies have always done: speaking truth about the life you are living. Sending information upward, from body to brain, with extraordinary intelligence and fidelity — to help you be the woman you are here to be and meet the moment with clarity.

It’s time to slow down and listen.

The body is not the problem - it’s the guide.

I know that you just want to feel better in your body so you can thrive. I want that for you, too. But, what feels like dysfunction is often wisdom. That place in your body that consistently hurts is working hard on your behalf — keeping you upright, keeping you moving, keeping you engaged in your life. The compensation pattern that might look like something has gone wrong is also the body's ingenious workaround. The symptom that scares the crap out of you is also a message, delivered in the only language the body has.

Listen, bodies wear out. Systems break down. That is not failure - it’s life as a living system. But how we listen and respond to what is happening (including the story we tell about it) is where we get to choose how this story unfolds.

What if the ache is holy ground?

Why This Matters

In times of fear and uncertainty, the nervous system is (rightfully) on alert. Functionally, this can lead to anxiety, increased physical pain and exhaustion, and women tend to lean in one of two directions: numb and collapse or buckle down and push harder. What we actually need is space to slow down and listen to the wisdom of the body, the mind, and the heart. To soften and settle the pain and exhaustion of the body, so that clarity and power can rise. This is how we meet the moment and create a new world, together.

Listen to Denise’s Experience

"I brought a softening to myself. More compassion, more love. And that came from learning the patterns of movement in my body and what emotions those patterns were holding."

— Denise Hughes, coach, artist, and retired RN

EM shares, “Nona has walked me home to my body.”

“A decade ago, when I first worked with Nona, a lot was happening in my life and body - fertility issues, adoption challenges, finding my birth parents. More recently, I came back to working with Nona as I was dealing with post-concussion syndrome, shoulder injury, perimenopause, multiple moves, and breast cancer.

Compared to typical coaching, this embodied work gave me the ability to really slow everything down - to go slow enough to notice the subtle messages of my body and understand what my body was telling me. With Nona weaving movement, breath, and stillness into coaching, it helped me slow down in such a deep, sacred way, allowing pain to be seen and released and unhelpful patterns to unravel. Through this work I found bliss, connection, and healing in deep rest.

I learned that I was worth it - I could rest, I am allowed to rest.

The pain in my neck, lower back, and shoulders - those are all gone. In our sessions, I would notice where my limits were, and each body part would feel like it was being tended to like a warm hug. The pain would release - it was like taking an Advil, but in a more holistic, intentional way that I could take with me throughout the week.

This allowed me to be a calmer, more grounded practitioner when I wasn't distracted by pain.

Working with Nona allows me to feel safe and calm, to emote and really look at what's happening within me, and then know that I can be okay after our session - that means so much to me. You are such an exceptional human and so skilled at what you do.

Nona has walked me home to my body.

If you are in pain emotionally or physically, or facing a challenge in your life, work with Nona."

I invite you to Reverence Sessions

A holistic coaching container to listen to the body and discover that her message has been coherent, and trying to reach you, probably for longer than you know.

We notice where the body and mind are bracing and listen. We create space in the body psyche so that you can let go. We notice what is humming and working beautifully, and we lean into that magic. We read the story the body, heart, and mind have been telling — through its compensations, its tensions, its exhaustion, its longing. We unravel the mental, emotional, and physical tensions. We listen and honor your life and how it is etched in the tissues of your body.

As we listen and move with awareness, something deeply generative happens: the nervous system settles — not because we “hacked” our way to regulation, but because she no longer needs to fear that we are not listening and will override her wisdom. Pain begins to fade, and clarity arrives. The woman you are here to be in the next chapter begins to emerge.

Reverence Sessions hold the fullness of you.

What Our Work Together Looks Like

Reverence Sessions are a six-month container because that is the time it takes for patterns to shift and intentions to take root in consistent action.

The first three months are foundational and include three sessions each month. This is when you learn the body, heart, and mind you are arriving with today, and we map the terrain together.

The second three months move into integration with two spacious sessions each month. As pain is softening, clarity and energy are growing. The woman you are becoming in this next chapter begins to emerge.

Over six months, you have fifteen sessions in total, with ongoing conversation woven throughout. This is an accompaniment through a threshold and into a new, lived experience.

Between sessions, I offer invitations and practices that deepen the connective tissue of new patterns.

I'm here between sessions: I'm available to you via Marco Polo or Voxer. I mean it when I say, “Tell me everything.”

We map the journey, together — tracking where the pain is softening, what clarity is emerging, how you are coming alive. Intention and vision guide us. The map becomes a record of your homecoming.

Note that this work requires your presence — not just in our sessions, but in your life. Six months provide the time that allows the work to take root. Pain patterns that have lived in the body psyche for years do not shift in a single session. This gives us the spaciousness to work through layers and track what's changing, as new ways of being emerge.

Hi I’m Nona

I'm a certified yoga therapist, master-certified coach, and someone who has lived — and been transformed by — a version of everything on this page.

I've moved across the world and back again, relocating every two years through much of my adult life while my husband deployed for years at a time. I know what it is to build a life without a stable foundation beneath you. I know what it costs to keep showing up when everything is in flux.

I also know what it is to have a body that surprises you. I've navigated mystery symptoms, chronic pain (now gone), and the particular grief of a body that changes despite doing everything right. What saved me was learning to come home to myself with reverence. Listening to my own body, my own knowing, my own soft ground.

I hold a Master's in Psychology from Harvard Extension School and advanced certifications in yoga therapy, professional coaching, and energy medicine — and 24 years of my own healing.

What women say

“I signed up for Nona's embodied sessions not knowing exactly what to expect and yet also knowing it was going to be exactly what I wanted and needed. And of course, it exceeded my expectations.

Nona is magical and loving and I swear there is one thing that emerges from each session that literally changes my relationship with life (seriously, it's that good!). And the best part is that it is deepening my embodiment practices in such a gentle and profound way that I know that I will forever be using everything I have learned and practiced with her mastery of mind, body, spirit.

I had very specific physical pain going on in my body before we started, and the work together has helped to alleviate many of these areas while restoring my body to its natural state of being. I couldn't recommend this body-centered healing work enough!”

-Stacey Andon, Master Coach

“Working with Nona has been an awesome mind-body-shifter and healing experience for me. As a person with an autoimmune condition and resultant permanent joint damage, pain is often a companion. I am committed to a practice of yoga 5 times a week, and I was not sure what yoga therapy would offer.

Having worked with Nona before and experienced her coaching, breathwork, and sacred gifts, I did not hesitate to sign up, and the magic began. Seemingly small shifts in how I was moving, enhanced body awareness, how I was sensing within my body, have made a difference in how I feel and move and what I choose to do and what I can achieve.

The biggest shift is how I focus on my body and all the areas that are feeling good (vs where the pain is, as the pain had been louder before this shift). Now I am feeling the ongoing benefits, the gifts that keep giving, of Nona’s inspired support and genius. I highly, highly recommend working with Nona and experiencing the benefits of therapeutic yoga.

“I am a huge YES to Nona Therapy! At 61, I wouldn’t have believed the movement and principles that Nona teaches would make such a big difference in how I move. It’s like I was given a secret code to understand my body.

As a newbie athlete, I feel incredibly lucky to have found this approach to improve my walking, hiking, and jogging. I have less pain, more ease, and increased joy with every movement of my body. Do yourself a favor and give this a try. It WILL make a positive difference.

Oh, and Nona rocks!”
