The Reverence Sessions: Come Home to Yourself

Embodied coaching & mentorship for women navigating the thresholds of life.

Change has arrived - and it may not be welcome.

The women I work with are crossing thresholds: changes that are expected and unexpected alike. It could be menopause or an empty nest. Maybe it’s an unexpected diagnosis or a significant injury. It could be a big move - an earthshattering ending or beginning. It could be, and often is, multiple things at once.

The women I work with are facing upheaval, focused on just getting through.

All the while, their bodies hurt, and they ignore it or curse it. They seek comfort — rightfully so — after tending to everything and everyone else, only to judge themselves as a failure for seeking relief. Their emotional landscape is so uncomfortable that they can barely sort out what they feel. They buckle down, trying to discipline and fix themselves. They ache to control what cannot be controlled.

And in all of it, they long for something lost along the way: themselves.

Together, we release the endless spin of trying to fix and control life — finding greater ease and clarity as women come home to themselves.

"Mr. Duffy lived a short distance from his body."

— James Joyce, Dubliners

In my 20's, I read this line and felt as if it were written about me. Anxious, stressed out, and in pain — and to add insult to injury, my left eye just would not quit twitching. In hindsight, I was trying desperately to stay on a path that wasn't mine, and my body wouldn’t stop telling me about it. I remained as far away from the conversation as possible - numb and distracted, but so badly wanting something more.

I knew exactly what it felt like to live a short distance from my body. And when I read that line, I suspected that for my life to be my own, I would need to live IN my body.

Somehow the stars aligned, and I ended up in my first yoga class — a little scared, wanting yoga to give me peace with my choices in life. But what I walked away with was so much more. Tears streamed down my face during savasana as I felt and sensed my body for what felt like the first time. Life looked different when I walked outside. I felt different.

Alive. Even in the grief and confusion — alive.

Thresholds become catalysts for the life we are here to live.

"I brought a softening to myself. More compassion, more love. And that came from learning the patterns of movement in my body and what emotions those patterns were holding."

— Denise Hughes, coach, artist, and retired RN

EM shares, “Nona has walked me home to my body.”

“A decade ago, when I first worked with Nona, a lot was happening in my life and body - fertility issues, adoption challenges, finding my birth parents. More recently, I came back to working with Nona as I was dealing with post-concussion syndrome, shoulder injury, perimenopause, multiple moves, and breast cancer.

Compared to typical coaching, this embodied work gave me the ability to really slow everything down - to go slow enough to notice the subtle messages of my body and understand what my body was telling me. With Nona weaving movement, breath, and stillness into coaching, it helped me slow down in such a deep, sacred way, allowing pain to be seen and released and unhelpful patterns to unravel. Through this work I found bliss, connection, and healing in deep rest.

I learned that I was worth it - I could rest, I am allowed to rest.

The pain in my neck, lower back, and shoulders - those are all gone. In our sessions, I would notice where my limits were, and each body part would feel like it was being tended to like a warm hug. The pain would release - it was like taking an Advil, but in a more holistic, intentional way that I could take with me throughout the week.

This allowed me to be a calmer, more grounded practitioner when I wasn't distracted by pain.

Working with Nona allows me to feel safe and calm, to emote and really look at what's happening within me, and then know that I can be okay after our session - that means so much to me. You are such an exceptional human and so skilled at what you do.

Nona has walked me home to my body.

If you are in pain emotionally or physically, or facing a challenge in your life, work with Nona."

What Our Work Together Looks Like

Three 50 - 60 minute sessions a month: In our work together, you will be held, met, and seen where you are. You will leave each session grounded and clear.

Between sessions, I offer invitations and practices that deepen the conversation between you and your body — and your life.

I'm here between sessions: I'm available to you via Marco Polo and Voxer. I mean it when I say, “Tell me everything.”

We map the journey, together — tracking where the pain is softening, what clarity is emerging, how you are coming alive. Intention and vision guide us. The map becomes a record of your homecoming.

Let me be frank. This work requires your presence — not just in our sessions, but in your life. I promise it doesn’t require perfection or constant effort, but a willingness to stay in the conversation with your body psyche between our sessions, to bring what's alive in you, and to let yourself be changed by what you find. The women who thrive in this work are done seeking quick-fixes or distractions and are ready to find a home within themselves.

Can You Let Yourself Be Held?

We begin with three months. Depth requires time — this is the minimum container that allows the work to take root. Patterns that have lived in the body psyche for years do not shift in a single session. Three months gives us the spaciousness to work through layers and track what's changing, as new ways of being emerge.

Investment: $900 per month

Hi I’m Nona

I'm a certified yoga therapist, master-certified coach, and someone who has lived, and transformed through, everything on this page.

I've moved across the world and back again — we relocated every two years for much of my adult life, while my husband deployed for years at a time. I know what it is to build a life without a stable foundation beneath you. I know what it costs to keep showing up when everything is in flux.

I also know what it is to have a body that surprises you. I live with MS. I've navigated mystery symptoms, chronic pain, and the particular grief of a body that changes - despite doing everything “right”.

What saved me — every time — was learning to come home to myself. Not to a place or a 10-step foolproof plan. To my own body, my own knowing, and my own soft ground.

That is what I offer you: a hand to hold as you come home to yourself.

I hold a Master's in Psychology from Harvard Extension School and advanced certifications in yoga therapy, professional coaching, and energy medicine — and 24 years of my own healing. You can trust me on the journey home, because I have been where you are.

What women say

“I signed up for Nona's embodied sessions not knowing exactly what to expect and yet also knowing it was going to be exactly what I wanted and needed. And of course, it exceeded my expectations.

Nona is magical and loving and I swear there is one thing that emerges from each session that literally changes my relationship with life (seriously, it's that good!). And the best part is that it is deepening my embodiment practices in such a gentle and profound way that I know that I will forever be using everything I have learned and practiced with her mastery of mind, body, spirit.

I had very specific physical pain going on in my body before we started, and the work together has helped to alleviate many of these areas while restoring my body to its natural state of being. I couldn't recommend this body-centered healing work enough!”

-Stacey Andon, Master Coach

“Working with Nona has been an awesome mind-body-shifter and healing experience for me. As a person with an autoimmune condition and resultant permanent joint damage, pain is often a companion. I am committed to a practice of yoga 5 times a week, and I was not sure what yoga therapy would offer.

Having worked with Nona before and experienced her coaching, breathwork, and sacred gifts, I did not hesitate to sign up, and the magic began. Seemingly small shifts in how I was moving, enhanced body awareness, how I was sensing within my body, have made a difference in how I feel and move and what I choose to do and what I can achieve.

The biggest shift is how I focus on my body and all the areas that are feeling good (vs where the pain is, as the pain had been louder before this shift). Now I am feeling the ongoing benefits, the gifts that keep giving, of Nona’s inspired support and genius. I highly, highly recommend working with Nona and experiencing the benefits of therapeutic yoga.

“I am a huge YES to Nona Therapy! At 61, I wouldn’t have believed the movement and principles that Nona teaches would make such a big difference in how I move. It’s like I was given a secret code to understand my body.

As a newbie athlete, I feel incredibly lucky to have found this approach to improve my walking, hiking, and jogging. I have less pain, more ease, and increased joy with every movement of my body. Do yourself a favor and give this a try. It WILL make a positive difference.

Oh, and Nona rocks!”
