Sometimes being in business can feel like being lost.
It gets frustrating and it can feel impossible to move forward and get done what we really want to accomplish. The more business-y stuff feels overwhelming and annoying. Especially for the incredible healers, creative geniuses, teachers, and coaches that I serve -- the business aspect of their work can feel like it's keeping them from the work of helping their people.
That feeling of being lost is a sign post.
A common thread among the women I am blessed to work with is a commitment to healing themselves -- the whole idea of "living it to give it". This self-healing is a huge component of their authentic success. Not success as in "I'm a millionaire now" but success as in, "I'm at ease with my business and my income, I'm at ease with my life, and I'm at ease with myself." This ease-filled state doesn't preclude hard work and difficulties, but it does point to an essential okay-ness with things as they are. An okay-ness with being in your own skin.
We often don't think of our business ventures as a path to enlightenment, but any resistance and aversion in our lives is just a call to come home. All of the women that I work with are bumping up against some form of resistance in their business and I'm here to tell you- when that happens, it's time to sit up and pay attention.
Your business is showing you the way home.
Maybe your business is showing you how to be fearless enough to welcome all of yourself home without guilt, and without shame so you will know with incredible clarity that you are here to heal the world and there is no-one else that can do it in the way you can.
Maybe your business is showing you how to be courageous enough to let go of the heaps and piles of "shoulds" "musts" "can'ts" and "don'ts" so you will recognize your innate wholeness.
Maybe your business is showing you how to be free to stand squarely rooted in your own power without feeling like you are "too much" or "too big for your britches".
Maybe your business is showing you how to stay firmly rooted in your body and let go of old ideas about what "real" work is and how that looks. The important work of changing the paradigm away from "others first, me last"...
Everyone has a different path home, but for frustrated business yoginis, perhaps you can look at the challenges of your business as a gentle reminder of your desire to heal and be healed.
Maybe it's time to soften into it and ask your resistance, or fear, or apathy what it's here to teach you. Maybe you can begin to welcome that part of you into the fold of your heart and still do what needs to be done.
Let your business show you the way. The more you open your heart to learning from what is right here, in this moment, the more healing you will be able to offer the people you are here to serve.
Heal yourself and you will, indeed, heal the world.
Namasté to you, business yoginis!
